Syntax: Discourse and Grammar

 

COURSE OBJECTIVE

      This course introduces the discourse-and-grammar approach to the study of grammar, exploring how grammatical forms are structured in daily use.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1.      Students are required to discuss the reading materials.

2.      Students need to present their data analysis in class.

3.      Students need to transcribe a stretch of spoken data about fifteen minutes in length.

4.      Students need to write an original term paper based on spoken data.
